Jo Teeling-Smith
Jo spent the first 10 years of her career working for the NHS before changing careers when she undertook a new role with Powergen shortly before it was acquired by EON.
The role led on to an exciting opportunity for Jo to become part of a pioneering team set up to deliver sustainable energy solutions to commercial clients. During a 9 year period Jo was instrumental in administering and negotiating supply chain contracts that delivered heating and energy generation schemes across the UK.
Jo then joined forces with another sustainable energy company EVO Energy as manager of the entire operational division of the multi award winning company who were the first independent company in the UK to import solar PV from China.
Jo now works with both StreetwiseSubbie and Ashmore Consulting helping clients to manage the day to day practicalities of their construction contracts and providing advice and ongoing contractual support.
Jo also provides guidance, workshops and training to help Specialist Contractors with their internal contracting processes, and contractual awareness, as well as helping them collect retentions and overdue payment.
Jo is passionate about the construction industry, her work and helping her Clients to get the best results. She is currently undertaking an MSC in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at Leeds Beckett University.
I would just like to say that I have been in a meeting to do with the project that you reviewed the subcontract document for us and I had a comment back about the onerous terms you highlighted
“Dave, I didn’t know you were so commercially clued up”
My response, “we have a contract / commercial member of our team that reviews our subcontract documents”. (That’s you Jo)
Client “Well, whoever it is they are really switched on”
“Just wanted to say thank you for training which I thought was well designed and the content was communicated just at the right level, your delivery was really good.
The training will definitely help people like me, trying to enforce compliance with our processes! Good luck with the next one.”
