Policies and procedures are an essential part of any organisation but particularly for Specialist Contractors, Trade Contractors and Subcontractors in the construction and engineering industries.
Together, policies and procedures provide a roadmap for day-to-day operations. They ensure compliance with laws and regulations, give guidance for decision-making, and streamline internal processes.
A company can have a general policy, specific policies for certain situations, or no policy at all. The purpose of a policy is to cultivate a positive safe and happy workplace environment. Ideally, your policies and procedures communicate clearly ad concisely how your company deals with the myriad of situations that relate to your business, your employees and those for whom you carry out work or provide services.
The creation of all policies and procedures should be done with care and the draft policies available for Tribe Members to download are a basis upon which to build the specific policy or procedure that is right for your organisation.
