It’s time to up the ante. Welcome to this week’s Wise Up Wednesday, exclusively for Specialist Contractors, Trade Contractors and Subcontractors, is your weekly burst of useful information. So, how come I’m asking; “Do You Need to Up The Ante?
Quite simply because I want you to know that taking positive action to bypass or put pressure on those who would otherwise treat you and your business as a pushover can and does pay dividends.
If you “up the ante”, you increase your demands or take a different course of action in a situation in order to achieve a better result.
Here’s An Example:
Last Friday we met one of our Buddies to help him resolve an under valuation of over £140,000 pounds and non payment of what the National Contractor had agreed to pay.
Instead of just suffering, we helped him suspend his works in accordance with the Act and escalate his case to a Main Board Director.
The Subbie successfully upped the ante and we will keep the pressure on until the situation is resolved.
We helped him to take a different more effective course of action.
So Why Be A Pushover – Why Not “Up The Ante”?
Why be a pushover when taking a different course of action provides so many other better alternatives?
